World of Warcraft Item Upgrades Item upgrades are a key element of enhancing your character. Upgrades increase the base damage as well as enhancements of items. These upgrades can be used simultaneously and their effects will vary depending on how rare the weapon is. There are two Blacksmiths in the game that can perform these upgrades: Blacksmith Hewg in the Church of Elleh hub area as well as Smithing Master Iji on the Road to the Manor Site of Grace.
